Doi Suthep

Doi Suthep is a mountain on which Wat Prathat Doi Suthep stands. This is a very old temple. Before reaching it, one must climb the 300-step path. (Or take a cable car that's not visible in these photos.)

It doesn't look very impressive at first. The temple so far looks like most other temples.

Things get more intresting when you step inside the complex.

Everything is so shiny! The central Chedi is covered with gold. The entire site dates back to the 14th century and is "one of the most important remains of the Lanna culture in Thailand" (Source: hasekamp.net.)

There are Buddah images everywhere.

The pose of each image is meaningful, though I don't know what it is in each of these figures.

There are also bells you can ring.
